Synthetic Ropes
SWOS has been supplying custom fabricated HMPE fiber facing lines since the introduction of this revolutinary fiber into the marine market. Due to the inherent dangers of using wire ropes, these lightweight, flexible lines were developed to eliminate injuries, reduce makeup and knockdown time, and reduce the number of deckhands required for these operations. With the difference in the cost of these synthetic lines versus wire rope, it has been proven the most effective way to prolong the life of these lines is with a superior chafe protector. SWOS has 20 years of experience with fiber rope protection utilizing various urethane coatings and fiber based sleeves.
